Well, Winamp3 is out and is growing on me. Some of the beta releases were a little wonky, but 1.0 seems quite solid. Some of the skins already released for it are very cool. No longer is Winamp constrained to a dull boxy shape. Winamp3 skins can have a life of their own. I'm using Zygote right now. "Winamp3 is more than an excuse to have 'mp3' built right into our product name." True.
"Labels are in trouble, and it's not from file sharing." I won't be buying the $495 (12 pages?!?) report from Forrester research, but it doesn't pull any punches in saying that the music industry is only hurting itself by ignoring the digital age. (Free video and MP3 feeds available)
I still like Alanis Morissette. (No, not personally-- I haven't had the pleasure.) I have 4 of her CDs. I dig the new one-- Under Rug Swept.

It's interesting how context can change everything. I have the soundtrack for Rushmore. Rushmore is an odd little comedy about a guy that tries very hard to fit in and in his own way succeeds, despite himself.
Anyway, the soundtrack is really great. The funny thing is that what makes it great is its association with the movie. I probably would never have bought any music by the artists included on the soundtrack, but I really enjoy this music in this compilation and mainly because it reminds me of various scenes from the movie.
