Savannah's First Platformer

Savannah's growing up. She's 3 years, 7 months now. And she has her first Game Boy Advance platform game: Dora the Explorer: The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure

Like all good platform games, it involves a lot of things to pick up and jumping. The site rates it for kids 4 and up but she's doing pretty well with it. We've read to her the bits of text it shows in the cut scenes and she knows them all by heart now.

Pardon me whilst I wipe a tear.

Does Dora yell as loudly in the game as she does on the show?

Dora, please use your inside voice.

On the other hand, anything that keeps my daughter Niamh as rapturously excited (and, yes, shouting back at Dora about "Bagpack" or the Map) as Dora the Explorer can't be at all bad. Well, except that she's not got a Game Boy, so I'll have to look for DtE games for the PC so she can play on hers...

There's nothing cuter than a toddler* and a GBA. :)
