My monitor has developed a twitch. Every few minutes the screen slighly contracts about 10-15 pixels worth horizontally inward. A few minutes later, it snaps back into place.

I guess it's getting a little long in the tooth-- about 6 years old now I believe. I've stared at it quite a bit over that time. It's served me well.

It's a 21", 80 lb. sucker and the thing I dread most is having to dispose of it once it does finally die (well, that and buying the replacement). I need to find out if there is a way to recycle it-- I'm sure there are salvagable components in it, just none that I have any use for.

Computer parts can be a serious environmental concern when just thrown in a landfill. There are some groups trying to recycle parts effectively. The components can be used for a wide variety of things.
