Hello? Is this thing on?

Hello? Is this thing on? It's been far too long since my last blog. I just haven't felt much like blogging since the 9/11 tragedy.

What bothers me most is thinking about the level of evil it takes to cause such a thing to happen in the first place. How anyone can justify the killing of thousands of innocent people is something that I simply cannot fathom.

What has been encouraging is the resurgence of patriotism and spiritualism in this country. I've never seen so many U.S. flags in my life! A few months ago I wouldn't be surprised to see some Americans protesting by burning a U.S. flag-- now that is unthinkable. The country that was evenly split less than a year ago over who should be president has united like never before and given him a mandate. And to see the world respond as it has in outrage and in support of our nation-- it gives me hope for humanity.

I'm also very proud and in awe of the courage and bravery of the passengers that died on United Airlines flight 93. We may never know how many hundreds or thousands of lives those few saved.

I hope that whatever military action is taken, it is done under the direction of the U.N. That is the wise thing to do-- there's enough hatred and animosity against America by these people. It would be better for them to see that they are not fighting America, but a coalition of nations that will no longer abide the atrocity of terrorism.
