Thoughts on 'Hailstorm'

Yesterday's Scripting News had a little blurb about Microsoft's hailstorm. I sent an email to Dave Winer posing the question: "Do we really want to trust Microsoft that much?". Dave forwarded the email to a Microsoft marketing rep and posted the thread on his site. He says they know security because they get attacked all the time. And I suppose he expects us to believe that none of them are successful. Well, i think the news (and here and here and here) speaks for itself.

Sorry-- I just can't feel comfortable about putting all my eggs in a Microsoft basket.
