Seth's Weblog

I took them to Safeway to choose 10 pieces of candy each from the Brach’s bulk candy. They were ecstatic: the chewies, the gummies, the chocolates. Savannah even wanted me to choose some for myself.

Then they picked out small balloons, the kind on a stick. We went to the library for story time and new books. After lunch and Finding Nemo, Savannah and I made peanut butter cookies to surprise Daddy with. At bedtime, Seffie got a cupcake book read to him THREE times! It was a pretty fun Valentines day.

Coming out of the kitchen with his newborn baby doll, I saw him with his shirt raised up. Just like Mama nurses his baby sister, he was trying to nurse his baby.

This morning I heard them fight over one of Savannah’s baby dolls for the last time. Seth and I went to Wal-Mart, and I got him his first baby doll. He’s wearing a Winnie ther Pooh suit and has a Pooh rattle. I named him Seffie Pooh.

He has thrown him about some, like boys do. But for the most part he’s very affectionate. Getting out of the van, he threw the doll in the floor of the van, and I said “Poor Seffie Pooh. Don’t throw him down.” He got worried and picked him up and hugged him. Tonight, he brought him to bed on his own. I didn’t have to remind him.

There’s one thing at this stage that I don’t want to forget. Savannah doesn’t do this anymore, but she used to. When Seth gets a messy cookie, anything with icing, even an Oreo, he licks his lips so much in a big circle, that he gets a nice, spit built, chocolate frame around his mouth. It’s funny walking through the grocery store after their free cookie. I’m in no hurry to clean his mouth. I guess a lot of mothers would be, but I’ve become very aware of how we just go from mess to mess. Besides, it’s kinda cute. That’s a picture we don’t have yet.
