Counting

He’s been repeating his numbers for a while. We counted mostly when we went up and down the stairs. His pronunciation is pretty clear. So far, the only time he’s counted without being encouraged, was almost 2 weeks ago when I gave him three Saltines. He laid them in a row, counting them “1, 2, 3.”

It’s made me realize how much repetition Savannah actually got and that she probably learned things a lot sooner than I thought. Seth doesn’t get the repetition Savannah got, but children soak up information sooner than I thought.

Sup-ah!!

It’s their new game. Savannah ties blankets around their shoulders and they run through the house being super heroes. Today I told Seth to go get some crayons across the room. He made fists and pulled his arms to the side as if to get a running start before he flew off. I remember when Savannah first did that.

VBS

This week, our congregation is having Vacation Bible School. Savannah is in the youngest class. There is no class for Seth yet, but Savannah’s teacher said they’d take Seth in with them and see how it goes.

Well he did great and had a blast! It was really cute to see his little blonde head with the big boys and girls. He wasn’t running off from them like he would me, and he didn’t seem like a baby so much.

Made me feel bad

Seth talks on the phone (for real) to Daddy and Amie. Sometimes he refers to the phone as either Dada or Amie. He likes to play around in the bathroom, climbing up on the toilet lid and turning on the hot water. A couple days ago, I got him down and shut him out of the bathroom. He was very upset, a lot more then usual. I didn’t understand why he said “Amie, Amie” several times. Later, when it was time to brush teeth, he finally got back into the bathroom with me and Savannah. He was very happy, saying, “Amie, Amie.” He climbed up on the toilet lid and found his play telephone on the counter. I’d had no idea he’d just wanted his toy.
