Seth has gone six hours between feedings at night, a few times. Last night I fed him at 10pm and he didn't wake up to eat until 6am. He went to sleep on his own and slept 7 of those hours. I woke up a little panicky, just like I did three years ago when Savannah first slept a long time. I was grateful to feed him because I had more milk than I'd had since he was born.
The pounds are falling off of me while he's plumping up. I estimate he weighs about 12 pounds now. I stand on the scale alone, then stand on it with him and subtract, so, however acurate that is.... His two month appointment is November 4th. Savannah weighed about the same at this point. So the jaundice didn't hold him back for long. Savannah has her three year check up at the same time.
We're going today to Brad's office to show him off and have lunch.
Today, getting him to smile is like pushing a button.
He smiled at meee!
There was no mistaking it this morning. He gave Brad his biggest smile yet. He was really focused on Brad, and his eyes were twinkling.
He's only 5 weeks, so he doesn't do much yet. Nursing is the one thing he really enjoys. As Brad says, it's the only thing he can do. Everything else he does occurs naturally.
I get a kick out of Brad holding Seth out and dancing him around, walking and talking for him. Seth still has that glassy-eyed look that little ones have which makes it even funnier.
His little spontaneous smiles are becoming slightly more frequent. As soon as he's really smiling, he'll make his first trip to the Sears Portrait Studio :)
