More eating

I think I want sugar cause the baby wants sugar. I'm blaming it on him. I keep thinking that eating is a mindset that pregnant women get into. With both pregnancies I hardly ever let myself get hungry. I'm a step ahead. It at least makes me feel better to say they're his cravings. I think he's the one making me sleepy too.

Reasons why it's different this time

Although I'm sure this child will be very different in some ways to Savannah, maybe drastically, I don't think the pregnancy is necessarily different because of the baby. My lifestyle is very different, and I think that's made me feel different.

The sleepiness I don't remember with Savannah, but I stopped working at Starbucks when I was four months along. I remember sitting at home playing Tetris. It was summer in Austin, and I don't think I went out as much. This time, I'm on the go and sometimes feel all over the place. I wasn't picking up a toddler the first pregnancy. I don't eat as big a breakfast as I did with Savannah. It doesn't seem necessary. Nor is there really time or desire.

I think there is more stress. Savnnah has some whiny days, a phase I'm sure. Yesterday we got along wonderfully. Today she's too tired for patience.

Knowing Savannah, plus the three years between them, I think they'll get along well. Although I told Brad the other day that I can already hear her complaining, He's in my stuff again. or Leave that alone. At least it'll be a while before he can open her bedroom door.

Savannah's brother

Savannah and I ran errands today. Getting into the van about the 3rd time, she hugged and kissed the "new baby" which means my belly. Later, she put our cat Rowdy in her old crib. When I asked from the other room if that's what she had done, she said no, that she had put it in the new baby's bed.

A baby boy this time

The baby is due September 1st, for what that's worth. With this baby, I've grown bigger sooner, grown grumpier and sleepier than I did being pregnant with Savannah. I fell asleep driving down Nashville three weeks ago. I crossed the yellow line. Although nothing was coming right away, it really scared and troubled me. It hasn't happened since, but it seems I get pretty sleepy every afternoon.
