Savannah's library
One day in early summer, Savannah wanted to write a little book. I folded a piece of printer paper twice. She drew a title picture on the front, two pages in the middle and the end of the story on the back.
She made about 8 of these 4 page books, putting up signs around the house for a children's section and an adult's section.
Then she put this sign on the front door and waited. She really did expect people to come to our house to get books from her library. I think the motivation for this sentence, "Library books are free." was her learning about money. Everything at the bookstore costs money. She hears the word "no" at the bookstore a lot more than she hears the word "no" at the library because library books don't cost anything.
The sign is no longer on the door, and the books she wrote have been stored in her milestone pile of writings and artworks which has grown a lot in the last 6 years. I try to be discerning in what I keep, especially since I have 2 more piles to make for brother and sister. But this I had to keep.
