That pancake "has your name on it."
I finally found an example for the quote fingers! I was making pancakes, as I do almost every Saturday, with fruit in them. The time, I made them with strawberries, all except one. Savannah prefers hers plain. I told her at the kitchen counter, "That one has your name on it."
At the breakfast table, she said, "The pancake doesn't have my name on it."
In explaining to her that I didn't mean it for real, (This would have been a good chance to teach her the meaning of "literally", but I chose not to go into that.) I realized it was a phrase that needed my quote fingers and told her so. Understanding the meaning, she smiled and pointed to her cup of milk, "This milk "has my name on it"."
