1st Special Day

After watching an episode of Dora the Explorer in which Boots gets a "special day" and gets to do anything he wants, Savannah asked for one too. First she got pancakes with chocolate syrup for breakfast. She needed a couple of cardigans. (The weather here is perfect for them.) Since we'd probably find good deals the day after Thanksgiving, we went to the mall. It was just the two of us, which was special all by itself. She wanted ice cream together which we had on one of the sunken, circular, couches at the mall here in Pleasanton. She really likes going down to sit on those.

She's been invited to a Chuckee Cheese's birthday party, so we got the little girl a purse and trinkets to go in it. She also wanted flowers for herself, but Wal-Mart didn't have the fresh flower refrigerator anymore, so she chose a Poinsettia plant..

What was surprisingly special about it was holding her hand through the mall and Wal-Mart. She was still in a stroller when Seth was born. By the time he came out of the Bjorn and into the stroller, she was eager to get out and walk during our errands. My hands were still on the stroller, and she hung on to the side. My hands are even fuller now with Arwen, and sometimes Seth too. So it was nice ot hold her hand yesterday.

I would like to do a special day for each of them once a month, one-on-one either with me or Daddy, but in different ways, like choosing the day's menu and a trip to the park, things that don't require buying something.
