They gave me money!
When we went to Starbucks two days ago, I thought it would be enough for Seth and Savannah to share a piece of pound cake. Of course, I did this knowing Seth could probably put away an entire piece.
I sent Savannah back to the counter for a bagel and cream cheese. She has gone back for forks and ice water before and even bought cream cheese. This time, all I had was a ten dollar bill.
It's so cute to watch her at the counter. She looks over and we smile at each other. I saw she was carrying the pastry bag of food and another bag. They had put the change from the ten in the second one.
Then she says, "They gave me money!" I didn't have the heart to get my change back, but I thought later, it's good I didn't give her a twenty.
So she wanted to spend her money on something that day. I wasn't up to facing Toys 'R' Us, but the Christmas Tree Shop has a cheap but decent (and small) selection of kid's stuff. She got things for her hair, a bouncy ball with Disney princesses on it and a princess crown with earrings, telling retail workers, "I got some money."
