Preschool update

Savannah likes preschool. She's not ecstatic like I thought she'd be, probably just my living vicariously through her. But she keeps asking for a playdate with her new girlfriends.

Maybe there's a correlation with this new start, but she has complained the last week or more of her stomach hurting. It goes away. Sometimes it only slows her down 30 seconds, once it was really hurting. I told her that sometimes toots really hurt before they come out and that it would move on down.

Daddy took her to preschool again today. It's in a pretty part of downtown Bethel, called the Gingerbread Schoolhouse Too. (The first one being a few miles away.)

She goes for almost 3 hours, 3 days a week. It's working out really well.

Her first day

Well, the morning was fun for her. She walked into the classroom and immediately found a doll house to play with. There was a small wooden see saw. Two boys were rocking back and forth. When one got off, she walked over to the other boy and paused a little as if to see if he wanted her to get on. He was a mild mannered boy named Jonathan. They see sawed a little. When Mrs. MaGuire asked us to give our special hug and kiss, I called her over. She took her time getting to me, didn't pause long for the hug and kiss and got back to her see saw. (There were enough children in the room, I think she felt some competition for the toy.)

When I picked her up, she didn't automatically come to me when I came into the room. She told me later that she sat quietly in her chair (as if she had been told to.) She drew a face on an apple and a picture of something that she wanted to give to the teacher. Her homework is to bring something for the nature table. I may try to give her some interesting suggestions and let her pick what she wants. She likes acorns. Maybe we'll glue some together so no one will choke.

She has seen some cartoons today during lunch. Since she is 39 lbs, and her doctor said that's close enough, we're going out to get her booster seat.

Three mornings a week

Tomorrow is her first day of preschool. She has a new, pink striped dress and a new back pack that she picked out herself. She is excited, and we're very excited for her. I thought the other day, it's like her life is starting.
