"I'll give you mine."

We roasted marshmallows on the stove top yesterday. She asked to take hers downstairs. I hadn't yet eaten mine when I heard her crying downstairs. I figured she'd stumbled because she's in a clumsy phase right now. Then I realized, "Did you drop your marshmallow?"

Such sadness.

So I told her to come up and I'd give her mine. When she got up to the kitchen with her empty fork, she said, "When you say, 'I give you mine.' dat make me deddy (very) happy."

Concerning the moon

Upon seeing the moon out the van window tonight, "It's movin', while you drivin'. It look like a egg..... to me. It look like a bird, in a nest, is (with) sticks."

Accommodating

When I'm brushing Savannah's hair and pull a tangle too hard or adjust her barrette and poke her scalp, or any of the little things we do with children, cross paths too closely that makes us stumble, I say, "Oops, I'm sorry."

She responds, "Dat's ok. Sometimes, I let my friends do dat."

Lunch with the girls, and Seth and Mason

Savannah's friend, Morgan, just left, along with her mother and three other of my girlfriends. All three of the little ones were together, Seth, Allyson and Mason. I know I should've gotten the video camera out, but if we had a dollar for every time we said that.... We can go running for our cameras or we can all sit and enjoy the babies together.

No more pets

Thanks to our friend Lauren, we found someone to take Rowdy and Perl. Having cats wasn't working out after Seth's birth. Just before they came to get the cats, I explained to Savannah that the cats would be going to live somewhere else. She wondered if they were coming back. I said no, and she said, "Aaawww." No more cats? No, no more cats. Then she asked for dessert.

The next day she said something about letting the cats out, from being put up overnight. I didn't say anything. The transition's been pretty easy. She was actually getting uptight about the thought of their hair getting on her. She didn't like when they brushed up against her. She had to have a wipie to clean herself off.
