This morning I thanked Savannah for picking up and throwing away the scrambled egg she dropped. For the first time, that I've noticed, she said "ah e'come" (you're welcome). She just said it to Daddy too.
January 18th saw the use of two new phrases- "Why not?" (She never just asks why.) and a parents' nightmare, "I don't know." Aaahhhhh!
You know that song, "Who Let the Dogs Out?" Well sometimes annoying songs get into my head. While Savannah and I played with her doll house yesterday, I sang it every now and then in a loud, deep voice. She didn't like it, kept telling me to " 'top it Mama." Finally, she just covered my mouth with her hands. Now I know how to tease her.
Savannah loves M&M's. She always asks for 5. Brad gave her one as we left together for Wilton yesterday. On the way, she said something that sounded like she had her M&M in her hat. I asked to see, and she took her hat off. I reached in, and sure enough, she was saving it for later.
On the way home tonight, Savannah was asking for some M & M's (Georgia had bought some earlier that day), and she was also asking to watch cartoons in the downstairs living room (the play room). I asked her: "Savannah, would you like to eat M & M's or watch cartoons?", trying to determine which was more of a priority for her. She quickly replied, "S'vannah eat M em's downstairs!"
Savannah loves having control of the television remote. Before leaving the tv room she has a special place on the couch for it, so she knows where it is when she returns. Brad says we should take a lesson from that.
Savannah has become quite agreeable lately. When I give her instructions, telling her to do or not to do something, she almost always says, "OK Mama." Sometimes I get the feeling she says it not really understanding what I've said. Today I got down at eye level to apologize for pushing her aside(She was in my chair.) and to explain why she shouldn't ignore me." She must've said "OK" about five times quickly as if to drown out my voice! I think she was telling me to be quiet.
