She’s suddenly in love with books. She’s caught on that most of the times that she comes to us with a book, we say yes! especially Daddy. Once the house starts waking up, he gets her out of her crib and she snuggles between us, insisting that Daddy reads and that I give her half my pillow.

Was taking a peek in to see what was new and interesting with the Choates lately and I had to comment on this one! I'm so tickled for y'all and especially for Arwen that she has discovered the joy of reading! I was especially pleased for her because we've done early morning book reading with Rachel for a long time now (since she was pretty tiny) and she LOVES it. I'm an avid book reader and was an early reader as a child, so I've always wanted to nurture the love of books in Rachel.
We generally both read to her by turns each morning, unless Darren has to leave early in the am for work reasons. She will select which one of us she wants to read a certain book (usually alternating between us if she's given the opportunity!). We affectionately call her the little coconut because once she selects a book, she simply falls backwards headfirst and holds up the book, ready to go! If we aren't attentive it can be a painful experience (for us, not her!).
Anyway, congrats on the addition of morning readathons - they are precious moments, aren't they? :)
