New words I've noticed

As much as she jibber jabbers, to herself or others, there are no doubt many words, even sentences, she can say. I've only deciphered two more lately. She definitely says "pop pa" for pop tart.

Then on Blues Clues, Arwen's favorite cartoon, Steve gets his first clue and says, "We need our handy dandy..." Arwen says a garbled "notebook."

Happy even in her sleep

Last night, not long after Brad and I went to bed, we heard Arwen giggling in her sleep.

Not now, Mama!

Anyone who's potty trained a child has seen them hide to do their business in their diaper, and the child gets pretty upset if they're interrupted or bothered. That's how Seth has been lately.

I approached Arwen when she was in the classic squatting position. Although she's not training yet, being only 17 months, I gave her that knowing look and reached to pick her up, and just like a big kid, she put her arm straight out with her hand up flat to mean "Stop." Then she quickly waved her little arm back and forth as if to say, "Don't interrupt me, Mama. I'm busy right now." :)

2 New words

She points to Seth's big Spider Man poster and says something that sounds like, "ma-ah, mine." She is saying Spider Man.

When I point the camera at her she says, "cheeeeese" very much like Seth does.
