Watching Dora with Seth today, she shouted something like, "Backpack!"
When quizzed, Arwen knows where her nose is, as well as her head, her ears, and her tummy (tum tum or belly).
She also went for her first swim today; just like the other two babies, she wasn't happy. But I kept her in the pool. The water was actually very nice, 85-90 degrees F. She's just used to bath water. She eventually tolerated it, although she never became happy.
Her fifth tooth is coming in.
She is no longer content to put small toys in small handbags. She rearranges her toys, putting her larger musical toys back into the bottom drawers in her dresser.
She sat between us on the bed today. After playing, she crawled over me toward the edge of the bed. I heard her say, "Dah, dah." She was saying "down" for the first time that I've heard.
At suppertime, Brad asked her if she was ready to eat some food. She repeated "foo" back to him before walking to her high chair.
She's been sipping through a straw for a couple of weeks which is good because it makes it easier to sip from cold water bottles in this 100 degree heat.
Arwen has now climbed into the bathtub, slipping in head first, just like Seth did when he was little. She has also climbed out of her crib. The fall was more scary than anything else. She hasn't repeated either one. I'm hoping it means she learns easily from her mistakes.
She especially likes carrying a bag or purse in the crook of her elbow. She likes carrying something in the purse. She waves and says "bye", says it perfectly, as she walks away carrying her purse with something in it.
Everything is "mah, mah," meaning mine, whether it's hers or not. To Savannah, all the toys and children's books really were hers. More often than not, the toys and books Arwen attaches herself to are not hers. That doesn't change much in her mind. It is all still, "mah, mah."
Arwen now likes to get a book, usually the miniature books that fit nicely in her little hands. She walks to me or Daddy when we're sitting in the floor, and when she gets to us, turns around and backs into a lap.
I have pointed at the page once or twice, so when she opens a book now she taps the page also because that's what you do when you read a book.
