Sleeping arrangements

It is a sad transition but very necessary for us. I am slowly getting her used to her crib, in her own room just across the hall. She has naturally objected, and I'm not ready to let her cry it out. She has a fierce fire in her that pushes out of her in a wail and sometims a growl when she hasn't been picked up. She has taken naps in her crib but has yet to spend a whole night there. Mama has to get herself psyched up for that.

Scooting and other firsts

Arwen began inching and scooting some time ago. Now she's really taking off! It is not technically crawling because she's not mobile on her knees, although she is trying that out. She turned 7 months yesterday. Savannah and I made a cake mix yesterday to celebrate. We could only eat some of the perimeter though, because an element in the oven is out, and the middle of the cake still looked like pudding, very unappatizing unless you're licking the spoon.

Her other firsts are sitting daily in the highchair watching brother and sister in their loud kitchen play and getting a Cheerio into her mouth with her little fist. She can look up at us from the floor with the happiest round eyes and apple cheeks.

A first

Oh my. Arwen is sitting in the high chair trying her best to get Cheerio (TM) halves in her mouth. She is getting them into her little fist but not quite realizing that she can stuff them into her mouth. What little one doesn't like that little round snack?
