By Friday at the latest

I'm really tired tonight. The past two days we've been out as we normally would. We went to the mall yesterday. Today I had a doctor's appt. and then the kiddies had a play date.

I've set an induction date for Friday. We were supposed to induce today, but I much prefer the idea of going into labor naturally. Planning a birth never made sense to me. I let them induce with Savannah because she was my first, and they were concerned about her size and being later than the due date. It worked out all right. Either way, the baby comes.

As of now, I've had a lot of regular but mild contractions for 45 minutes or so. This seems to happen about this time of night, when I'm ready to go to bed. Most people would say to stay active, walk around the house, keep the labor going, but I can't imagine being that active right before labor when what I really wanna do is go to bed. Since I can remember, very little stops me when I'm ready to go to bed.

This little one is still quite active, giving me hope that he has some room and isn't the biggest baby ever. Either way, we'll know by Friday at the latest.

8 days late?

I think maybe they got the dates wrong. There was a blood test July 18th. It was negative. 40 weeks from the 18th will be April 23rd.

We'd scheduled an induction for tomorrow. Going in early in the morning and getting hooked up for induction is not my idea of an exciting time. I like the control that it allows. Brad working 25 minutes away, waiting for the baby sitter, 15 minutes to the hospital. Surely labor won't be THAT fast, but there's so little real prediction to it.

So I've postponed the induction, hopefully until the 23rd. By then, this baby will be "later" than Savannah was at 11 days. We will see.

First purchase

If the new baby is a girl, she has a new shirt/dress. If he's a boy, we get to go back to the mall for the return, and ice cream.

It caught my eye well before it made it to clearance, ivory cotton with pink and green smocking. One day I'll learn to smock, and Savannah and I can wear matching shirts.
